The 10-Week Program

Espyre’s core program is delivered through weekly three-hour sessions. Each session gives young people time to learn, practice, ask questions, build confidence, and form supportive relationships.
Week 1: Welcome, Connection & Program Introduction
The program begins with a welcoming session where participants get to know one another through icebreakers, learn what to expect during the 10 weeks, and begin identifying their personal goals.
Weeks 2–9: Hands-On Skills & Future Readiness
During Weeks 2–9, each three-hour session is divided into two learning blocks:
Cooking and nutrition: Approximately 1.5 hours of hands-on instruction in kitchen safety, food preparation, cooking techniques, nutrition, grocery planning, and budget-friendly meals.
Life skills and future readiness: Approximately 1.5 hours focused on practical topics such as budgeting and financial literacy, résumé and interview preparation, employment readiness, college and trade-school pathways, household management, self-care, communication, goal setting, and building positive support systems.
Participants learn through guided activities, real-world practice, and conversation—not simply by listening to instruction.
As part of the 10-week experience, participants also take part in a guided budgeting and shopping activity at a local store, where they practice comparing prices, making informed choices, and planning meals within a budget.
Week 10: Review, Recognition & Celebration
The final session brings participants together to review what they have learned, ask remaining questions, discuss their goals, and consider the steps they want to take after the program.
Participants’ accomplishments are recognized through a completion celebration and certificates of completion. They also leave with practical resources designed to help them continue using the skills they have built.
Grow. Lead. Thrive.
