Espyre (es-PYRE) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping foster youth build the skills, confidence, and support they need to transition successfully into adulthood.

What We Do
Espyre’s hands-on 10-week program gives foster youth ages 15–24 opportunities to learn, practice, ask questions, and build confidence. Participants strengthen practical skills for everyday independence in areas such as:

Financial literacy, budgeting, banking, and informed money decisions

Cooking, nutrition, grocery planning, and preparing affordable meals

Employment readiness, résumé writing, and interview preparation

College, trade-school, workforce, financial-aid, and career pathways

Household management, self-care, organization, and healthy routines

Communication, decision-making, goal setting, and positive support systems
The 10 weeks are a beginning—not an ending. As qualified volunteers, community partners, and resources are available, participants may also have opportunities for continued mentorship, encouragement, and guidance as they move toward college, trade school, employment, and other personal goals.
Our Approach
At Espyre, we believe young people learn best by doing. Participants do more than listen to lessons or receive information—they practice everyday skills, work through real-life decisions, prepare meals, ask questions, and discover options that reflect their own goals.
The program brings practical learning together with caring mentors and meaningful community connections. Every part of the experience is designed to help young people feel more prepared, more confident, and less alone as they move into adulthood.
Why Espyre Exists
Espyre was founded by former foster youth Becky, whose lived experience inspired a lifelong commitment to supporting young people as they prepare for adulthood. She saw how easily a gap can remain between caring for a young person and making sure they have the practical preparation and dependable support needed for independence.
Espyre was created to bridge that gap through education, encouragement, hands-on experience, and relationships that remind young people that their future matters.
Because no young person should have to figure adulthood out alone.
